Something special is happening this Fall as a local family teams up with The Perfect Gift to encourage gratitude – even in the midst of life’s toughest challenges.
Since mid September, a “Gratitude Tree” has been available for viewing and community participation this Fall outside at the corner of our store.
The story of “why” is what makes this tree so worth visiting. While on vacation recently, the Englerts stumbled across a similar concept of a “Gratitude Tree” in Florida and immediately thought of their hometown of Clarence Center. They proposed the idea of constructing one together at the four corners of Clarence Center, and our answer was YES! The idea is that visitors stop by, write something they are grateful for on the cards provided, and hang it on the tree.
The Englerts shared, “We reflected on what we have to be grateful for. We suffered a sudden, tragic loss of our 19 year old, and only child, Paul Jr., two years ago on Sept. 19th 2013 to a pulmonary embolism. In light of our loss, we realized we still have many things, especially people, to be thankful for. Our community, family, and friends, have supported us through our tragic journey.”
The Gratitude Tree is a loving gesture to our community this fall in Clarence Center. At The Perfect Gift, we feel honored to be a part of such a wonderful act of remembrance of what’s truly important in life. The Englerts remind us that everyone has something to be grateful for, and their attitude is inspiring!
The Gratitude Tree will surely touch the hearts of many. We are grateful for so much, including the past 12 years in business working with amazing people, hearing their stories, and being a part of making a difference TOGETHER!
